ABOUT CHAPALU
Introduction
I am a member of IMRO - relevant PRO information etc. for each track can be found on the Chapalu SoundCloud page or is available upon request.
Chapalu is my music project: I write as a hobby with the aim of creating music for licensing and/or for the artists ultimately. As a part of the How To Write Songs community, my writing has certainly developed and improved. I joined the HTWS community in late May 2024. I thoroughly recommend this community for anyone interested in writing - you can learn more on YouTube.
Instruments & Demo Recordings
All Demo tracks on SoundCloud are created and produced (to mixed degrees of success) in Logic Pro X - all drum tracks are Logic ‘session players’ . I use an Apple iMac with an M-Audio interface and a Nektar Panorama CS12 controller. Instrument wise, I use a mix of Yahama and Native Instruments keyboards. For bass, I use a Fender Jazz or a Fender Dimension. For electric guitars, I use a Fender Thinline Telecaster (‘72 model) Vintera, a Duesenberg Double Cat, a D’Angelico Premier DC and my very reliable PRS SE. I also occassionally use my Godin Multiac Steel HG for more electro-acoustic guitar sounds.
Over the years, I have played in a variety of bands and when I was younger, played in a number of orchestras (double bass / cellos) and wind bands (primarily percussion and kettle drums). As a musician, I would describe myself as a non-performer these days and a competent pianist and bassist, an average guitarist and a very average singer these days. Unfortunately on the demos, I do the singing :-)
Upcoming Plans & Further Information
In order for my demos to be lifted to the next level and for my work to be taken more seriously, I’ve been working with The Online Recording Studio to record my tracks to a professional standard. Details of musicians and the technical team will be shared as I upload the tracks. The team I’ve been working with are impressive, super talented and offer brilliant advice and guidance.
