The sky could fall and shatter
Like shards of glass on ice
And time could slip through tiny
Cracks of compromise
The world could tilt, the sun fade
And leave us cold and blind
No force on Earth could hold me
No bearing undefined
I will find you, I will find you
You cut through all the madness
Make sense of the strange
A beacon in the darkness
Whose true light doesn’t change
I will find you, I will find you
I will find you, I will find you
You’re my anchor
You keep me from drifting
In this sea of flames
Thrive on chaos
Like the windshield wipers
Love the heavy rain
The mountains turn to shadow
And rivers lose their way
I will keep on searching
Through night and day
I will find you, I will find you
I will find you, I will find you
You’re my anchor
You keep me from drifting
In this sea of flames
Thrive on chaos
Like the windshield wipers
Love the heavy rain
I will find you, I will find you
I will find you, I will find you
I will find you, I will find you
I will find you, I will find you
The sound is inspired by Echo & The Bunnymen. The lyrics feel like devotion strapped to a compass during the end of the world. The imagery in the lyrics feel apocalyptically huge but emotionally the song feels intimate - a product of the surrealism and adynata. The universe keeps threatening collapse, and the response is never panic. It’s pursuit.
